United Healthcare has announced that it will provide coverage for the administration of the Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccinations for it's group health insurance members. The latest comments from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest the flu situation remains "fluid."

The Federal Government said they will supply the vaccine at no charge to all insurance providers and based on its analysis of the current situation, The CDC's Advisory Committee has recommended prioritizing the following population segments to receive the vaccine:

  • Pregnant Women
  • Caregivers of children 6 months or younger
  • Healthcare and emergency service personnel
  • Children and young adults through age 24 years old, and
  • 25 through 64 year olds who might have an underlying health condition.
